Logos.co

Tech highlights

Logos.co is an open-source collective that focuses on building tools for decentralised governance. It's supported by a privacy-preserving and politically neutral technology stack that allows web3 developers to build new types of social, economic and governmental institutions and virtual territories.

As part of a small, tight-knit design team, I've shaped Logos' visual identity over the last 2 years. I've crafted a bold design language, translating it's radical, forward-thinking mission into a compelling visual identity. The creative outputs spanned across spatial designs (merch, printed posters, zines, stickers), dynamic social content, motion graphics, event design, blog posts visuals and diagrams.

Moods

Brand & Design Strategy

This project started by auditing the existing brand, competitors, and other Web3 players to develop a clear design brief rooted in Logos' manifesto and mission. Logos is an ambitious, volunteer-driven project that aims to rebuild civil society in the West through culture and technology. First and foremost, it is a cultural movement.

The goal was to find a visual language and narrative that preserved the original DNA while opening space for new forms of creative expression. Once the brand strategy was defined, we created an extensive visual system covering IRL event identities, marketing templates, motion, and supporting documentation for external contributors.

The design narrative is rooted in the ethos of the early cypherpunk movement and the spirit of the early internet, where individuals used their own tools and creativity to build alternative systems. That mindset of autonomy and experimentation became the foundation for the entire visual system.

Role of Colour

While Logos' core colour theory is based on black and white, the use of gradients and the full colour spectrum is encouraged as a form of creative expression.

Colour is treated as a reflection of individuality and freedom and serves as a visual statement that Logos supports personal identity and connects the community to the movement.

Social Media Campaigns

Twitter is the main hub for Web3-focused communities. As part of several campaigns, we launched Internet Strikes Back and Mantras. As a result, the Logos Twitter account grew from under 1k to over 70k followers.

Internet Strikes Back was inspired by the aesthetics of the early internet and old terminal interfaces, reinforcing the project's roots in decentralised technology and digital activism. The Mantras series focused on visual expressions of core values and was designed to be remixed and reused by the community.

Brand Guidelines & Creative Toolkit

To support implementation, an extensive guideline system was developed, covering TOV, interface representation, foundation, motion principles, and usage of the logomark.

Collaborating closely with key stakeholders I've helped to integrate the new visual language internally and support third-party contributors.

Spatial Design

Logos regularly participates in Web3 events and community activations, which gave me the opportunity to translate the visual language into spatial experiences. This included booth and event identities, stickers and zines, physical installations, motion for screens, and merch for internal offsites.
